Andrew M. Smith, MD, MS, is a board-certified allergy, asthma, and immunology specialist and the owner of Allergy Associates of Utah, serving patients in Sandy and West Jordan, UT. With decades of experience, he is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care for individuals of all ages dealing with allergies, asthma, and immune-related conditions.

Dr. Smith completed his undergraduate studies at Princeton University before earning his Doctor of Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He then pursued a residency in internal medicine at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and furthered his expertise with a Master of Science in Molecular Epidemiology. In 2007, he completed a prestigious Allergy and Immunology fellowship at the University of Cincinnati/Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

Committed to staying at the forefront of his field, Dr. Smith is a Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (AAAAI) and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (ACAAI). He has also contributed to numerous research publications, conferences, and professional meetings, solidifying his reputation as a leader in allergy and immunology.

At Allergy Associates of Utah, Dr. Smith provides expert diagnosis and treatment for seasonal allergies, asthma, food and medication sensitivities, eczema, hives, and sinus issues. He also offers advanced testing and treatments, including orthopedic device allergy testing, rapid and cluster immunotherapy, extended contact allergy testing, penicillin testing and challenge, and aspirin desensitization. Dr. Smith also specializes in rare disease such as hereditary angioedema (HAE), mast cell disorders, and immune deficiency.

Recognized for his exceptional patient care, Dr. Smith has received multiple awards, including the ICARE Certificate of Excellence Award, Top Doctors in Cincinnati, and Best Allergist in Salt Lake City. He is committed to helping patients achieve long-term relief and improved quality of life through personalized, cutting-edge allergy and asthma care. 

Dr. Rayes is an associate professor of pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He is a pediatric hematopoietic cell transplantation and immunodeficiency physician with specialized expertise in the care of children and young adults with complex immune, hematologic, and metabolic disorders. His clinical focus centers on transplantation for non-malignant diseases, including inborn errors of immunity, inborn errors of metabolism, bone marrow failure syndromes, and hemoglobinopathies.

Dr. Rayes founded and developed the Pediatric Immunology Clinic at Primary Children’s Hospital. He led the integration of outpatient and inpatient care for children and young adults with inborn errors of immunity within the Pediatric Immunology and Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation/Cellular Therapy Program at the University of Utah and Primary Children’s Hospital, which he directs. His work emphasizes coordinated, multidisciplinary models of care that bridge immunology and transplantation to optimize outcomes for children with rare and complex conditions.

In addition to his clinical leadership, Dr. Rayes is committed to advancing the field through clinical and translational research focused on immunodeficiency, immune reconstitution, and the optimization of transplantation for non-malignant disorders, as well as innovative cellular and gene-based therapies. His work aims to expand access to curative treatments for patients with rare immune and genetic diseases. He has co-authored multiple abstracts and peer-reviewed publications in transplantation and inborn errors of immunity.
